Here are some vintage TV commercials of Wilkins coffee that aired way before the muppet show and other Jim Henson movies.
I know these were posted around the web about two years ago but I found them again and thought they would be worth a second look. Read the rest of this entry »

Vintage coffee ads have conditioned us over the years to buy a particular brand of coffee by either through a catchy jingle, catchphrase/tag line or a combination of both. The addition of bad acting stuck into a 15 to 20 second television ad makes it much easier to determine the video list of the worst vintage coffee commercials.
In their day the top four advertisers were Folgers Coffee, The Maxwell House Coffee Company, Sanka Instant Coffee, and Nescafe's Tasters Choice Instant Coffee. I started following this person on Twitter and loved his or her tweets about random things about coffee. Sometimes the tweet will be about the history of coffee, incorporating the coffee bean into a dos command for computing, or just some clever coffee humor.
I tried to see if the coffeeturtle has a website or anyway of contacting other than a tweet. I am so impressed with this persons obvious love for coffee that I have an rss feed to all of his/her tweets at the bottom of this page in the center. Check it out if you like coffee you will enjoy this.

Vince vs. Billy Mays
All of this talk about making and drinking coffee and nobody has mentioned yet what to do about the spills and coffee stain removal. I know I usually down about three big cups of coffee daily. Depending on how I take it that day I will either spill coffee pouring it, sloshing the spoon on the counter from stirring in cream, or just get real clumsy and spill some while walking up or down stairs.
Most recommendations for cleaning these kinds of coffee spills is getting it while the coffee stain is still wet. Other techniques include using dish soap, warm water and blotting up stains. Here are three resources for getting the complete step by step methods down.

My recommendation for coffee stain removal would be to buy a big tub of OxyClean from Billy Mays and a ShamWow from Vince and you're good from now until the end of time when it comes to coffee stains.
