Is Your Coffee Maker Holding You Back From the Perfect Cup of Coffee?

Imagine, being awakened by the smell of coffee brewing in a pot that you set the timer on the night before. The aroma makes its way from your kitchen to your bedroom and filling the house with the rich and bold smells of Columbia or maybe even Hawaii. It makes it a little easier to wake up in the morning knowing that you have a fresh brewed pot of your favorite coffee waiting for you to pour that first cup.

Whether you drink it black, with cream, with sugar or both it doesn't matter. As your mouth is watering, you stumble to the kitchen, groggy from sleep and pour that first cup, fix it how you like and take that first sip of instant eye opening energy. At that moment, everything comes crashing down like a house of cards.

You notice that the coffee's strength is weak and has a watered down taste or worse yet, that you have ingested a mouthful of coffee grounds from the bottom of the cup. You then ask yourself, what could have gone wrong? Even after you carefully ground and measured the beans and pre-poured the exact amount of water the night before you still ended up with a crappy cup of coffee.

IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT (Good Will Hunting metaphor inserted here)

It's the coffee maker's fault. Now may be that time to replace that old jalopy with a new grind and brew coffee maker. Now, I know that you have done all of the required maintenance and recommended cleanings until you can smell vinegar in your sleep. But that still hasn't stopped the filters from bunching up and causing wet grounds to end up in the bottom of your favorite morning mug. Although it may not be on the top of this month's budget expenses here are some grind and brew coffee makers that won't break the bank when you want to get a new one.

Or one really cheap way to get by until a new coffee maker can be purchased is to get a french press coffee maker.  French press coffee pot, on the low end are $10 to $15 and offer a robust alternative to brewing coffee. Here is a link on how to brew a press pot of coffee.
