Starbucks Beer and Wine coming soon to a coffee shop near you.
That's right the Seattle based coffee company will have to add to its Starbucks store locator 15th Ave Coffee & Tea that also offers beer and wine to its caffeinated friends.
If Starbuck's competitors were waiting for the store closings and laysoffs that Starbucks was rumored earlier this year to give them a little breathing room in the beverage sales department; they have another thing coming. A new concept of coffee house launched by the Mega makers of exotic coffees took shape in two of their Seattle test stores. It's been heard that if the test market favors then they will start another worldwide domination.
This go around is supposed to be what the Starbucks stores are not. 15th Ave Coffee & Tea will have beer and wine added to their menu accompanied with an assortment of cheese platters. Starbucks beer wine are rumored to be price pointed in the $4-7 range. They will still serve coffees that are even more hand constructed than the existing Starbucks franchises.
Aside from a small sign on the window stating "Inspired by Starbucks" you wouldn't know that it was a part of the Starbucks Company. Some locals in Seattle who have visited 15th Ave thought that they were trying to mask the establishment and reel in the boycotters of the old and bad Starbucks and still take their money in this new nice environment that serves beer. ( In my own Homer Simpson voice.)
What do you think about this giant move from this giant of a company? Your Venti comments are welcomed.
